On a Saturday in early April, summer-like crowds turned out to the Gay Head Light for one last visit before the lighthouse is moved about 129 feet away. The lighthouse was opened for visitors to say goodbye to the beacon in its old location; visitors climbed up and down the spiral stairs, took pictures, signed a guest book and recalled memories of the lighthouse.
