The second annual Cook the Vineyard! event held Monday at Lola's in Oak Bluffs was a celebration of food and Island cookbook authors who share their stories and recipes with the community.

The event, presented by Martha's Vineyard Magazine, featured dishes inspired by recipes in cookbooks by Island authors. The authors themselves were on hand to talk about their books during a discussion period moderated by television personality and Oak Bluffs resident Sissy Biggers.

Courses included salmon with sorrel sauce from Joan Nathan's Quiches, Kugels and Couscous: My Search for Jewish Cooking in France, green bean salad with Dijon vinaigrette from Karen Covey's The Coastal Table, and a tomato, corn and leak potato gratin from Susie Middleton's Fresh From the Farm. A selection of wine to accompany each course was chosen by Channing Daughters Winery in Bridgehampton, N.Y.
