On the first sunny day of the Memorial Day weekend, hundreds showed up for a morning parade in Vineyard Haven that paid tribute to the sacrifice of those who have given their lives in service to the country. The parade began at 10 a.m. at the American Legion Hall and continued to Oak Grove cemetery where officials spoke of service, performed songs and laid wreaths at the Civil War memorial stone that commemorates unknown solders.
