The Vineyard Playhouse is holding open auditions for Earl Hamner Jr.’s The Homecoming, adapted by Christopher Sergel and directed by M.J. Bruder Munafo. Auditions will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25 and Friday, Oct. 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vineyard Playhouse, 24 Church street in Vineyard Haven.

The Homecoming is back this year as part of the rotating repertory for the Playhouse’s annual family holiday show. Roles are open for actors of many different ages and actors of all ethnic backgrounds are welcome. Roles are as follows: one leading teen boy to play age 16; one teen boy to play age 14 to 16; one teen girl to play age 14; four boys and two girls to play ages 5 through 12; one boy and one girl (African-American) to play ages 10 to 14; and 8 adult roles of all ages including one adult African-American male. The show runs on weekends from Dec. 7 to Dec. 23.

Actors may come by to audition any time during posted hours. Be prepared to stay at least half an hour. Actors will be asked to read from scripts provided at the audition. If you are unable to attend the audition, it may be possible to make an audition appointment for another time.
