Mary Wakeley Andrews and Brian Charles Herbert of Alexandria, Va., married Sept. 8 at the Federated Church in Edgartown.

The Rev. Dr. Gerald R. Fritz officiated.

The bride’s parents were Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Davis Andrews Jr. of Alexandria, Va. The bride’s grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Lewis D. Andrews, and Captain and Mrs. William R. Kane. í

The bridegroom’s parents were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Herbert of Bronxville, N.Y. The bridegroom’s grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. H. Robert Herbert, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Chambliss.

The maid of honor was Jennifer Kaufman. The best man was Scott Stallsmith.

In their account of the wedding, the couple said: “We left the church and walked down (our whole wedding party and all of our guests) down main street to the yacht club for our reception. It was a great part of our wedding. We had the bagpiper playing and everyone came out from all of the stores and took pictures and clapped for us.”

The reception was held at the Edgartown Yacht Club. For their wedding trip, the couple stayed at The Kelly House in Edgartown. They stayed in the Chappy house on the top floor and said they had a magnificent view when they woke of the harbor.

Mary grew up in Alexandria, Va., and is attending Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Va., where she plans to graduate in December 2008. Brian grew up in Bronxville, N.Y., and attended Roanoke College in Roanoke, Va. He is working for a consulting firm, Accenture, in Reston, Va. The couple will reside in Old Town, Alexandria, Va.
