I think the little bit of snow that fell on Wednesday may have been enough to put people in the mood for Christmas. The trees are up in some houses and the Island is starting to glow with outside lights.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Joao Carlos and Lily Gazaille who celebrated their day on Dec. 1; Samantha Cassidy and Brenden Morris on Dec. 2; Shivonne Schofield on Dec. 3; Justin Donahue on Dec. 4; Jerry DaSilva and Abigail Willoughby on Dec. 6; and Constance Chandler, who celebrates her day today, Dec. 7.

Special wishes go out to John Morgan, who turned 21 on Nov. 29, and to Paul Shultz, who celebrated his day Dec. 1.

Barbara Morgan and Tom Taylor were happy to have Ethan Ambrose Morgan, Barbara’s first grandchild, at their home. Ethan came with his mother, Liz Griffin, and had a great time meeting all his cousins and aunts and uncles. Ethan would like to thank cousins Ellie and Carolyn Dolby for the use of the walker, and cousins Jason and Renee for the portable crib. Ethan is the son of Dylan Morgan and the great-grandson of Ted and Floss Morgan.

It is looking like it will be a good weekend for Christmas in Edgartown. All the lights are up and the park has colored lights, awaiting the ceremony of turning on the big tree. A lot of the stores are decorated in their finest and people are scurrying to prepare the soups and the chili, and set out all the crafts they hope to sell this weekend.

Have a great week and enjoy all the festivities and keep the home candles burning.
