FARM Institute Launches

Winter Programs for 2008

Winter 2008 youth programs are scheduled to begin at the FARM Insitute in Katama starting Jan. 4.

Farmers-in-Training will be offered again after school on Fridays beginning Jan. 4 to students ages 10 and up. Students in this program are accepted based on their experience and commitment. Lots of opportunities are available at the institute for program participants to mentor students and assist teachers and farm hands, as well as work on their own projects.

On Saturdays beginning Jan. 5, we invite children of all ages to sign up for one of two sessions being offered: mornings from 10 a.m. to noon or afternoons from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Students are encouraged to register in advance as space is limited. The cost of each session varies based on length and weeks. For details or to register, call Melinda Rabbitt DeFeo, enrichment director at 508-627-7007, extension 106; e-mail her at melinda@farminstitute.org.; or visit farminstitute.org.
