The holidays are over and Chilmark is experiencing a drop in activity as our holiday visitors head home and the rest of us head indoors. The skies are gray these days and so is the landscape. Hopefully, as my arm improves, so will my mood.

Bob and Phyllis Conway spent the Christmas holiday in New Jersey with their daughter, Robin Morley and her family and with David Conway and his family. They enjoyed a tour of Manhattan and a trip to the Bronx Botanical Gardens. They also had time to renew old acquaintances in Basking Ridge, their former hometown.

The Chilmark Community Church is introducing something new to the Chilmark winter scene. They will offer community suppers every Tuesday evening in January and February from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Fellowship room behind the Church. Homemade soups and bread, salads and desserts will be the menu. The supper is open to all with no charge. A good-will offering will be accepted. Who says there is no place to go in Chilmark in the winter?

The Chilmark Library is having a quiet week but remember, there is story time and music for children every Tuesday and Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Best wishes to you all for a happy and healthy new year. The fireworks in Tisbury were the highlight of my celebration and they were a treat . . . thanks to whoever hosted that show.

Please call me as I need your help in getting the news of Chilmark to the world.
