First, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. My New Year’s resolution is to figure out how to take care of my computer when it goes haywire. It usually wins but eventually I get it back where I can work it.

As you know, Island life can be busy or however you want to make it. So being at home for the next few weeks while the nursery is closed, I decided to change myself so I called Gretchen Wean Bassett and made an appointment at A Hair Affair. Best thing I have done in a long time. The ladies were delightful and very friendly and after a few hours I walked out a new woman. I did feel a little old as I walked out and talked with Mary Bergeron, who I use to give cheese to when she was in the grocery cart shopping with her mom Beverly when I worked at the A& P deli a long time ago. Now she is going to be a mother.
Also while there I was in the chair next to Denise Guest. She informed me that their daughter Gillian was home from Perkins School for the Blind for the Holidays. Gillian has been very busy socially as she has been to the prom twice and she is also a cheerleader. Gillian is very happy to be home with Pa and and brother Alexander.
Our condolences to the Morgan family on the passing of Bob Morgan. Bob was a devoted townsman and family man and will be missed by many.
If you have any news, please call me. Let me know about trips, visitors or births of babies. We love to read some good news.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
