The Martha’s Vineyard NAACP will hold its annual membership and awards brunch celebrating the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center, 130 Centre street, Vineyard Haven.

The event will include a special tribute to Vera Shorter. Sadie Burton-Goss is the scheduled guest speaker.

Ms. Burton-Goss is a consultant, trainer, coach and speaker. Her professional experiences spans almost twenty years as a consultant and manager, in health care, high tech, education, government and the insurance industry. She has served as a management consultant to more than a hundred domestic and international organizations, in the private and non-profit sectors.

A Boston native, Ms. Burton-Goss has worked and traveled throughout the United States, Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe sharing her expertise in leadership, strategic planning, diversity, board development, relationship marketing, and wellness.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College and her master’s degree in management from Lesley University School of Management. She completed advanced studies in organization development at Columbia University. She is completing her doctorate at Lesley University, exploring the cultivation of resilience on adult life.

She resides in Boston and on the Vineyard with her husband Donalexander Goss of Goss Photography and their son Donalexander Jr., the delight of her life.
