Arts & Society presents the 30th annual Bloomsday celebration of music and drama based on the text of James Joyce, on June 16, at 8 p.m. at the Katharine Cornell Theatre, Spring street, Vineyard Haven. Tickets are $18 general, $15 senior and student, and may be purchased at the door or at the Bunch of Grapes. For information, call 508-696-0539.

This year’s program will feature Father Arnall’s sermon from A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, given by Donal O’Sullivan. Gerry Yukevich will perform from A Mother, from Dubliners. Three musical settings from Chamber Music will be featured with the composer Philip Dietterich at the piano, and Kevin Ryan, tenor. A vignette from Ithaca from Ulysses will feature Andy Macdonald, Cahal Stephens, Donal O’Sullivan and Jean Shelkh. It will conclude with Rose Liberace as Molly from Ulysses.

These are performances, not readings, produced and organized by John Crelan. The tradition of celebrating Bloomsday in Dublin began in 1982, at Symphony Space in New York in 1982, and Arts & Society in Boston in 1979.
