Outerland is calling all male and female carpenters, builders, electricians, plumbers and other handy types to compete in its third annual hard-hatted hunky carpenter contest. The thrills begin Friday, June 27 when club doors open at 7:30 p.m. — the drills and skills tests begin at 9.

Island hardware company H.N. Hinckley & Sons will award cash and merchandise prizes to contestants who reach the final of three skill rounds. Contestants will be asked to strut their stuff, dance and compete in hammering and skill contests for the title – and ultimate status – of being proclaimed the Island’s hunkiest carpenter by a panel of female judges (who may also be influenced by the crowd’s enthusiasm and applause).

Deejay Shizz keeps the club at the Martha’s Vineyard Airport going until closing with a dance party. Tickets are $5 at the door. Admission is free for contestants, who can register at the door or online atouterlandmv.com.
