The Aquinnah Cultural Center will hold its second annual All Native Artisans Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow at the center, located in the former Edwin DeVries Vanderhoop Homestead at the Gay Head Cliffs.

The festival will showcase Native American art from several U.S. locales, as well as traditional native food, artists at work, music and dance performances, said Berta Welch, chairman of the Aquinnah Cultural Center.

More than a dozen tribal artists from Island, New England and the southwest will offer jewelry, including sterling silver work, bead work, wampum, pottery, gourds and paintings.

Island work for sale includes Tobias Vanderhoop’s hand woven baskets, Jeannette Vanderhoop’s jewelry designs and silver jewelry by Bruce Ignacio. Off-island artists include Iroquois pottery by Westerly, R.I., artist Brenda Hill of Shining Star Pottery.

“The event was launched successfully last year and we have attracted several new artists to participate as a result,” said Mrs. Welch.

Guided house tours will also be offered at the center until 3 p.m. with $7 suggested donation for adults and $4 for children.
