The Rev. Dr. Dorothy Watson Tatem will be the guest preacher at Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs this Sunday, August 10. An organ prelude by Garrett Brown begins at 9:40 a.m. and the service starts at 10 a.mUnion Chapel is at the south end of Kennebec and Circuit avenues.

Reverend Tatem is the director of urban and global ministries, Eastern Pennsylvania Conference, United Methodist Church. The theme of her talk is A Primary Matter and her sermon title is Caviar, Peacocks, and Manolos. She will use as her scripture Matthew 6:25-34

Her doctorate was obtained from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wynnewood, Pa., In 2005 and 2006 she was the keynote preacher at Rankin Chapel, Howard University.

Reverend Tatem is active in community affairs promoting women entrepreneurs, faith-based organizations, and spiritual rejuvenation. She is a trustee of Albright College, Reading, Pa., and volunteers as a mentor to African American students on campus.
