It’s time for old-time fiddle music tonight, when The Flying Elbows Fiddle Band performs at 8 p.m. at the Katharine Cornell Theatre.

Known to deliver light-hearted, high-energy performances, the Flying Elbows will present both original and traditional songs with humor and three-part harmony in addition to their familiar fiddle material.

The band has a long history locally, having won numerous awards, prizes at the fair and played parties, weddings and contra dances both here and on the mainland. The trio of Tom Hodgson, Nancy Jephcote and Paul Thurlow on fiddle, guitar, bass and occasional mandolin will be joined by guest and former Elbow fiddle and banjo player Bob Hammond.

Tickets for the concert, sponsored by the Martha’s Vineyard Country Dance Society, are $10 at the door with children under the age of 12 admitted free.
