Entrain’s Drums For Peace, a concert focusing on the theme of peace, love and unity, will be presented twice on Friday, Oct.3: first, an alcohol-free, all-ages show at 7 p.m., then an over-21 show at 10 p.m. Both shows are at Outerland at the Martha’s Vineyard Airport.

Entrain’s energetic percussion-driven sound will offer the audience an explosive two hours of drum ensemble pieces and rhythms from all over the world. The full band will also be playing tunes from their seven compact discs that contain this positive message.

With songs such as the Afro-Pop All One (We are All Connected), to the hip-hop funk chant of Drums For Peace and the anthem rock Arm Yourself With Love, as well as the Brazilian samba call for environmental concern, Letter To The World, and Color Blind, celebrating racial equality, the band promises a night of positive vibes and fun for the entire Vineyard community.

Joining Entrain will be the the Island’s own Black Brook Singers and the Drum Workshop’s Rick Bausman with Tunzadrumz, as well as other special guests.

Taking their name from the word entrainment — the synchronization of rhythms — Entrain’s goal is not only to entertain, but to leave the audience more in synch (entrained) with the global community that is our world.

Tickets are $10, or $5 for kids under age 12, and will be available at the door.
