Some single class seminars and multi-week courses — on subjects as diverse as Shakespeare, wine appreciation and salsa — are still open for registration with the Adult and Community Education Program (ACE MV). Classes meet on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The fall session runs through Dec. 4, and a winter session begins Jan. 12.

John Clift, who will teach a one-day seminar Nov. 13 on wine appreciation, is a certified sommelier from the Wine Academy of Rome. On Nov. 4, high school arts, graphics and technology teacher Chris Baer offers a one-night, hands-on, introductory course on 3D Digital Design. Dr. Magda Ramirez, who specializes in public health, teaches a weekly course on nutrition, safe dieting and healthy cooking. Appreciation of the plays of William Shakespeare is taught by Brooke Hardman Ditchfield, a professional actress who trained with the Chicago Shakespeare Theater and has taught Shakespeare in Montana and the inner city of Chicago. Jannette Vanderhoop, program coordinator for the Aquinnah Cultural Center, offers an introductory course on Native America. Musical composition is taught by Island musician Willy Mason. Saskia Vanderhoop teaches a four-week introduction to salsa dancing.
