The Edgartown Board of Trade will be holding elections for a new board of directors on Monday, Nov. 17. The elections will take place during the annual meeting, which will be held in the Baylies Room of the Old Whaling Church at 5 p.m. The board is seeking business owners who are willing to share their thoughts and ideas and work together towards becoming an even stronger business community.

The current board of directors recently voted to expand the number of directors from four to seven. This will allow for more participation from the businesses in town and include a broader cross section of the membership to help better represent the whole town.

The board has a membership of 142 Edgartown businesses and organizes the annual Fourth of July fireworks, sand sculpture contest, Martha’s Vineyard Food and Wine Festival and Christmas in Edgartown. It has been actively promoting the use of the park and ride program by the downtown employees during the season and has worked with other town committees as well.

If you are an Edgartown business owner with interest in being nominated for the board of directors please contact John Coskie at 508-696-4402 or jcoskie@bankofmv.com.
