The Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank Charitable Fund awarded more than $76,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations and community groups in the past year. With support for programs in the arts, education, community affairs, health care, youth and senior programs, the fund’s grants benefited 45 organizations that contribute to a better quality of life on the Island. Most recently, $3,500 in funding was provided to four organizations including the Close-Up Program for Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School students, the Island Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels and the Tisbury Mural Project.

Since 2006, the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank Charitable Fund has been a part of the Permanent Endowment Fund, the Island’s community foundation, providing financial assistance and volunteers for various programs and services. “At the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank, support for nonprofit and community groups is a tangible way to demonstrate our commitment to helping address the needs of our friends and neighbors on the Island,” said bank president Chris Wells.
