Friends and supporters of Patty and Lewis Codding of Vineyard Haven who lost their home to fire last week, have established an account at the Martha’s Vineyard Savings bank for anyone who wants to offer donations.

The Codding home was completely destroyed by a fast moving fire last Tuesday. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Sandi Hakala, a family friend, said anyone wishing to make contributions can visit any branch of the Martha’s Vineyard Savings bank. Donations also can be sent to the Patricia & Lewis Codding Fund, Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank, P.O. Box 1069, Edgartown MA 02539.

Also a group called Helping the Coddings has been established on the online networking site Facebook.

Since the site was created last Wednesday, a total of 270 people have joined. The most recent post from Joe Keenan announces that a potluck fund-raiser and concert for the Coddings has tentatively been scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 8 at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury.

Volunteers and supplies will be needed. The date and time of the event was still subject to change. For information call 508-560-2662.
