Four suspects arrested in November in one of the largest heroin drug busts in Island history were indicted last week by a Dukes County grand jury on multiple counts, including trafficking heroin and dealing drugs near a school.

Indicted were Kaleb C. Garde, 26, of Vineyard Haven; Roseline J. Gaspar, 24, of Vineyard Haven; Garrett J. Gibson, 24, of Oak Bluffs; and Alexander W. Carlson, 22, of Edgartown.

Both Mr. Garde and Ms. Gaspar were indicted on single counts of trafficking heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, three counts of possession of class B (cocaine or prescription opiates such as Oxycontin), three counts of possession of class E (prescription drugs), dealing drugs near a school and three counts of conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Mr. Gibson and Mr. Carlson were indicted on charges of trafficking heroin, possession of heroin, dealing drugs near a school and three counts of conspiracy to violate drug laws. A total of six suspects were arrested Nov. 18 after the Martha’s Vineyard Task Force raided the Garde family home on Spring street in Vineyard Haven and seized nearly $70,000 in heroin, cash and other drugs.

The Garde home is located near the Tisbury School and a childcare center.

The Cape and Islands district attorney’s office did not seek indictments against the two other suspects Hannah Garde, 22, and Daniel Garde, 19.

Hannah Garde is still slated to appear in Edgartown district court to face charges of intent to distribute heroin, conspiracy to violate drug laws and dealing drugs near a school. Her brother Daniel Garde still faces charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of heroin in district court.

The four suspects indicted by the grand jury last week are scheduled to be arraigned in Dukes County superior court on Feb. 24. All six suspects are currently free on bail.
