Eight Island kids participated in a dance competition Tuesday morning at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square in New York city as a part of the Pimple Blocker Battle, hosted by Clearasil. The competitions pits five dance crews against each other to become the first Clearasil Dance Crew.

The Vineyard contestants often perform on the Island as part of the Kelly Peters Dance Group, at events such as the West Tisbury Agricultural Fair or at Oak Bluffs’ Built on Stilts event. Mr. Peters selected some of the finest dancers in his group and entered them in this contest, calling them the CompleXion Crew (just for the sake of this competition).

On Wednesday morning, it was announced that the CompleXion Crew had made the competition’s final three groups. The winning group, who will share $10,000 in prize money, is determined through online voting. People can visit the competition Web site, clearasil.us/pimpleblockerbattle/, to view videos of the dancers and vote for their favorite.
