Nancy Kelly, chairman of the Decorator Show House and Gardens announced that Kayla Leonard has been selected to manage the five-month long event that will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Martha’s Vineyard. “The excitement this project has generated was evident in the large number of qualified candidates that expressed an interest in this position. Habitat for Humanity of Martha’s Vineyard is so pleased to have Kayla on board.”

Kayla Leonard, born on Martha’s Vineyard, is the daughter of Paul and Linda Leonard and recently graduated with honors from Roger Williams University. Kayla’s reputation as hardworking and enthusiastic was developed through her many extra curricular and athletic activities in high school and college.

Ms. Leonard will be responsible for the coordination of activities of the many decorators, gardeners and artists involved in Habitat’s largest ever fundraiser. In addition to the house tours, Kayla will manage special events and the volunteer corps necessary to keep the doors to Capt. Thomas Mellen’s home open. Ms. Leonard stated that “I feel honored to be able to work on such an exciting project, to help Habitat for Humanity raise the funds to build another house and to help the community I call home.”
