It was a great and, finally, sunny afternoon on Wednesday when Bill Little was installed as the president of the Rotary Club of Martha’s Vineyard for the next year. The ceremony was held at the Daniel Fisher House in Edgartown. Rotarians were there, along with Bill’s son, Billy, Jr., and his friends Travis Tebbetts and John O’Leary, from the Cape. Travis, an accomplished bagpiper, brought his pipes to celebrate the occasion. The installation took place at 5:30 p.m. Outgoing president Adam Wilson was there, president-elect for next year, Bill Brown, and the officers Anne Pelligrino, Meghan Slobolowski, Diane Bardwell, Dee Landers and Mike McCourt were all pinned by Bill’s wife, Debbie. Special mention goes to secretaries Debbie Carter and Elaine Carroll, who were so helpful in organizing the event. Treasurer Paul Watts and assistant treasurer Fielding Moore were part of the gang. Bill gave a short speech, then it was fantastic hors d’ouevre, beer, wine and BYOB. A great time was had by all. The Rotarians do so much for our community — give Bill a call if you would like to join. When I last spoke with Bill, he and his son and friends were headed out fishing Thursday morning.
