New weekend service on a fast ferry will bring passengers from New York city and New Jersey to Martha’s Vineyard beginning today and continuing through Labor Day.

The five-hour connection is new from Seastreak, part of the New England Fast Ferry Company that also operates daily service between the Island and New Bedford.

Seastreak first offered the trip on the July Fourth weekend.

Its 400-passenger catamarans will depart on Fridays from New Jersey and New York, and return Sundays, except on Labor Day weekend, when the return trip is on Monday. The vessels have a full service cash bar and rest rooms.

One-way tickets are $125 and round trip $200. Children ages five to twelve are $100 round trip ($63 one way) and under five are free but require a reservation.

No dogs are permitted.

Friday trips depart Highlands, N.J. Conner’s Highlands at 3:30 p.m.; Manhattan’s Pier 11 (Wall Street) at 4:20 p.m. and Manhattan’s 35th street (East Side) at 4:45 p.m. The ferries arrive in Oak Bluffs at 10 p.m.

Return trips leave Oak Bluffs at 4 p.m. on Sunday, arriving at the East Side 9:20 p.m.; Pier 11, 9:35 p.m.; and Highlands 10:35 p.m.
