Naturalist Rachel Carson wrote, “If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement, and mystery of the world.” Ms. Carson would be pleased with Exploring Nature with Children, a program at the Polly Hill Arboretum this Saturday, July 25 from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Learn how to encourage a child’s discovery of nature through close observation of trees, plants, flowers, and insects. Come alone, or share the experience with a child as you explore together. Children must be accompanied by adult. Please pre-register for this program at 508-693-9426. Cost is $5, or free for arboretum members. Children, of course, are also free.
