The Chappaquiddick Summer Music Festival concludes on Thursday, August 13, with a performance by the Split Second Piano Duo, comprising Marc Peloquin and Roberto Hidalgo.

Split Second, described by the New York Times as “gifted [and] musically curious,” has been offering works for four hands at one piano and two pianos for over a decade. The program will include works by Bach, Brahms, Virgil Thomson, Frederic Rzewski and David Del Tredici.

Recent engagements include a featured performance at the 2006 Latin American Culture Week in New York City, a program of Bach and Mozart Concertos at Christ and St. Stephen’s Church in New York, and a performances at Merkin Concert Hall, Bellas Artes in Mexico City.

Their recording of Mexican and American works was recently released on the Urtext label.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. at the Chappaquiddick Community Center. A reception follows the concert and everyone is invited to attend.
