Wailing for Hunger

The Wailers, backing band of the late, great Bob Marley, are performing a benefit concert for Friends of the World Food Program at Nectar’s nightclub this Sunday night at 8 p.m. The concert is part of the I Went Hungry campaign, a global music industry initiative, founded by the Wailers, that is working towards the eradication of hunger around the world. Proceeds from this show will benefit the United Nations World Food Program food assistance programs in Ethiopia, which include emergency operations to support people affected by recurring drought, famine and HIV/AIDS, as well as providing mother-and-child health and nutrition and school meals. To date, over 97,000 Ethiopian children have been fed by funds generated by the Wailers’ campaign. For details on the world food program, visit friendsofwfp.org.
