The Martha’s Vineyard Boys’ and Girls’ Club After School Program opens for the new school year on Monday, Sept. 14.

The program is open to all children in grades kindergarten through grade six, and runs Monday to Friday, 2:40 to 6 p.m. (noon to 6 p.m. on half-days of school).

The program gives children a variety of daily activities to chose from in art, education, computers, athletics and social recreation.

Admission to the program is $20 per child for the school year.

The club will be dedicating its facility as the Anthony H. Meyer Clubhouse at an event coinciding with the after-school program opening day. The facility is being named in honor of the club’s longtime friend and board member, for his unparalleled commitment and service to the club and the Island youth.

The dedication will take place at 4:30 p.m. at the club’s front entrance and is open to the public.

An open house and preregistration (for the after school program, flag football and cheerleading) will take place on Friday, Sept. 11, from 2:30 to 6 p.m. at the Boys’ and Girls’ Club at 44 Robinson Road, behind the Edgartown School.
