Please Adopt Us

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard now has a Web site where you can see pictures of some of the animals available for adoption this week. Go to dukescounty.org and click on Pets Available for Adoption.

The shelter has a handsome new cat named Arnold; he is a big, dark ginger tiger. Itty Bitty is still with us and really needs to find a permanent home. She would be a great pet for an elderly person as she is very quiet and loves to be petted. Cleopatra is a white and tortoiseshell, and Scrunchy is a dark tortoiseshell; both are spayed females. Tiffany and Scooter are the two black kittens who have just been spayed and are ready to find homes with a lot of love to give. Nutmeg is a gray and white spayed female.

The shelter also has a sweet, gentle Guinea pig who comes with her own cage.

The shelter still needs cleaning supplies; please call to get a list of what is needed.

The telephone number is 508-627-8662; the shelter is open Wednesday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Thanks to all who have donated to the shelter and filled our little dog banks; you have been most generous and every penny goes to keep the shelter running.
