Amy Mildred Royle Jacob and Walter Adams Looney 3rd were married August 1 at the home of the bridegroom’s parents in New York.

Mr. Looney is the son of Walter and Diane Looney of Edgartown and Manhattan.

The couple met at Harvard, from which the bride graduated and the bridegroom received a Ph.D. in economics. Mr. Looney, 32, graduated from Dartmouth cum laude. He is on leave from the Federal Reserve Board in Washington while serving as a senior economist for the White House Council of Economic Advisers. He previously served in the Department of the Treasury on a financial stability plan task force.

Mrs. Looney, 29, works in Washington as an account manager with Horne Creative Group, a marketing and communications firm in Reston, Va.

She is a daughter of Louise Jacob of Yonkers and Martin C. Royle of London. Her father is retired as the Head of Road Lighting Policy at the British Government Department of Transport. Her mother is a copy editor at Story Worldwide, a marketing agency in New York. Her paternal grandparents, the late Ruth and Eric Royle M.B.E., lived in Stockport, England. Her maternal grandparents, Edwin and Constance Jacob, live in New York.

Mr. Looney’s mother is a freelance interior designer in New York. His father is a partner at the New York law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. His paternal grandparents, Walter Sr. and Katherine Looney, live in Bethpage, N.Y. His maternal grandparents are Stephanie O’Neill and the late Edward O’Neill of Milton, Mass.
