At a booth with working firefighter lights on top, the Edgartown Firemen’s Association and their Fire House Special Wings won, over 11 other hot competitors, at Sharky’s restaurant’s inaugural Wingfest last weekend, where hundreds of patrons ate more than 5,000 chicken wings to raise more than $5,000 for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys’ and Girls’ Club.

The Edgartown Firemen’s Association will have their wings featured on the menu at Sharky’s restaurants in Edgartown and Oak Bluffs starting this week and a portion of each one ordered over the next year will be donated to the Martha’s Vineyard Boys’ and Girls’ Club.

The Spicy Wings award went to Jordan Insurance.

Sharky’s donated all the wings, T-shirts, advertising, staff and more while MVY Radio, MVOL.com, Coors Light, Big Sky Tent, Eco MV, Trader Fred’s, Allied Waste, MoneyShot and Phil daRosa all donated their supplies and services.
