Inspiring Women

A breakfast program, called True Stories: Women Entrepreneurs on Martha’s Vineyard, is being presented by the Martha’s Vineyard Women’s Network on Tuesday, Dec. 1 from 7 to 9 a.m. in the Baylies Room of the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown. Four Island businesswomen will discuss the pitfalls and challenges of starting up, surviving economic ups and downs and whether being a woman helps, hurts or makes any difference in entrepreneurship. The panel discussion will be moderated by Susan Klein, an Island storyteller and owner of Ruby Window Productions, and will include Lynn Buckmaster-Irwin, owner of Weddings on the Vineyard; Sherry Sidoti, owner of FLY Yoga; Carol McManus, owner of Espresso Love; and Jan Pogue, owner of Vineyard Stories, an on-Island book publishing company.

Admission is $15 for network members who preregister and $25 for nonmembers and walk-ins. Men welcome. A light breakfast will be served. For details or to register, visit mvwomensnetwork.org
