The Martha’s Vineyard Drug Task Force and Oak Bluffs police arrested five people last week on a series of drug charges, including heroin and cocaine trafficking.

On Tuesday the task force executed a search warrant at a house on Lyme street in Oak Bluffs following a nearly four-month investigation. Oak Bluffs, Tisbury, Massachusetts state police and members of the drug task force assisted with the investigation and arrests.

Quincy A. Young, 28, and Nicole Cleary, 27, were charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, cocaine trafficking, illegal possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a defaced firearm while committing a felony, illegal defacing of a firearm serial number and receiving stolen property over $250.

Using a search warrant for the home, the task force found 22 packets of cocaine with an estimated street value of around $1,000. Police seized a .45-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun that was reportedly stolen from an Edgartown home last week.

Both were arraigned in Edgartown district court on Wednesday.

Mr. Young is being held on $2,500 bail at the Edgartown house of correction; Ms. Cleary was released after posting $1,500 bail.

On Friday Oak Bluffs police arrested April L. Cerrato, Andrew Rankin and Craig Rozario on an array of heroin charges. Ms. Cerrato and Mr. Rankin were charged with heroin and morphine trafficking, possession of heroin with intent to distribute and being present where heroin is kept. Mr. Rozario was charged with possession of heroin, subsequent offense, and being present where heroin is kept.

The arrests were made with the assistance of the Tisbury police.

Police were first alerted when the caretaker at a home on Upland Drive in Vineyard Haven came into the Oak Bluffs police station to report that three people were living illegally on Upland Drive. The caretaker told officer J.J. Mendez that he asked the people to leave and they refused.

When Mr. Rozario was later identified as one of the people in the house, Officer Mendez knew he was wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Edgartown district court.

Police arrived at the home and found cocaine, quantities of prescription drugs and what they believe is rock cocaine and heroin, on the premises.

All three were arraigned in Edgartown district court on Monday.
