A free seminar on energy planning, designed for architects, engineers, town planners, facilities managers and other building and design professionals, will take place on Thursday, Jan. 14, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay. It is presented by the Cape Light Compact.

The seminar will cover emerging technologies that may affect new and existing buildings and offer details about funding available to implement energy efficient upgrades.

Among the topics covered will be Cape Light Compact’s energy efficiency initiatives, an update of stimulus activities, a brief look at the new Massachusetts Energy Code, using available resources to get beyond code, and quick looks at the Advanced Building Program, LEED and MTC Green Initiatives.
