Author Paul Schneider will discuss his approach to developing the narrative voice in nonfiction and his research for his upcoming book on the Mississippi River. This event is part of the Martha’s Vineyard Museum Speakers Series and will take place on Jan. 30, at 3 p.m., in the museum’s library at 59 School street in Edgartown.

In 2001, Mr. Schneider published his bestselling book, The Enduring Shore: A History of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, a chronological history of the natural history of Cape Cod and the Islands from its glacial creation, to its native people, whaling life, and current state of the threatened landscape. The West Tisbury author has published four books of nonfiction, including Brutal Journey: Cabeza de Vaca and the Epic First Crossing of North America and The Adirondacks: A History of America’s First Wilderness. His most recent work is Bonnie and Clyde: The Lives Behind the Legend.
