Vineyard House voted a slate of officers at its annual general meeting on Jan. 18. Mark Jenkins returns as president of the board of directors, with Dawn Bellante-Holand and John Early commencing terms as co-vice presidents. The organization’s new clerk is Pat Gregory, and new treasurer is Brian Mackey.

Vineyard House is a nonprofit that offers safe and sober housing for Islanders in early recovery from substance abuse. The organization owns three houses — two for men, and one for women. Residents must pay rent, submit to alcohol and drug testing, attend support group meetings and help maintain the houses.

“It is evidence of the importance of our mission that even in these tough economic times, our end of year appeal in 2009 was one of our most successful to date,” Mr. Jenkins said in a release. “Islanders who know about us know we perform a difficult and unglamorous job, but one that is essential to the health of our community.”
