Martha’s Vineyard Magazine’s Spring-Summer Home & Garden edition, now on newsstands, has the hopeful tone of an economy rebounding. New construction featured includes a renovation after a fire, one built in Aquinnah and one in Vineyard Haven.

The magazine also takes readers inside the wine cellar of Sweet Life Café owners Susan and PierreGuérin.

A story on the historic Edgartown garden of Emily Post (maintained today much as it was in her time) features photos of dazzling dahlias — the flower she loved above all others — as well as notes from her 1928 garden log. Other stories offer suggestions for deer-resistant plantings, tree care and how to remove skunk spray.

Also on sale is Martha’s Vineyard Magazine’s Island Weddings & Celebrations,. This features the double wedding of one couple who created two complete ceremonies and celebrations to honor his Hindu and her Catholic roots; a lovely, rainy-day wedding that was not dampened by the weather; and a week-long celebration with festivities from coed yoga on Inkwell Beach, to a sunset dinner cruise, to an indoor clambake at the Menemsha Inn.

Coming soon is Martha’s Vineyard Magazine’s May-June Special Anniversary edition: this issue will celebrate 25 years of Island life through the stories, photos, events and people featured in nearly 100 issues.
