Calling All Stations

This Saturday, April 24, low power, nonprofit Island community radio station 93.7 WVVY invites Vineyarders to the Mediterranean restaurant on Beach Road in Oak Bluffs for their first ever Air Fair. An Island trade show and music fest, the fair begins at noon, with over 35 artists, vendors, crafters, farmers and others setting up tables showcasing their wares, produce and demonstrations for sampling and sales. Many Island organizations will be on hand to give fairgoers an opportunity to learn about and sign up for upcoming programs.

WVVY deejays will be providing the soundtrack for the afternoon, and Mediterranean will provide the refreshments, in the form of tapas and beverages. Kids’ activities, including facepainting and a junior disco, will keep the little ones busy and safe.

At 4 p.m., a short break will give the evening’s musical talent a chance to set up. The show begins at 6 p.m., with a roster that includes deejays Matthew Cullen and Cartel, Bulldog Productions’ Spencer Binney, Kalica, Colin Ruel, Nina Violet, Good Night Louise, Loira Burra and Kahoots. The evening closes out at 1 a.m.

Admission is $10, or $20 for a family. All proceeds from vendor fees and admission go to support the continued operation of the station, For more details or to participate, e-mail mvcommunityradio@gmail.com.
