Cleaning the Air With the Trees

Some see a walk in the woods as R& R. Harvard Forest director David Foster sees it as W& W, or Wildlands and Woodlands, his plan to save the forest. His idea is to preserve 2.5 million acres in Massachusetts, but in private hands, not traditional conservation. Hear his ideas on directing, not restricting development — and dealing with climate change — when he speaks Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury. It’s $10, or $5 for Polly Hill Arboretum members. For details, 508-693-9426.
