Sassafras Earth Education begins its fall programming this month. Outdoor home-schoolers program begins on Oct. 5 and meets every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This program is for childeren kindergarten age and up. Dress for outdoors and bring a snack, lunch and water bottle.

Girls in the Woods begins on Oct. 7 and will meet weekly every Thursday after school, from bus pickup until 6 p.m. This program is for girls ages 8 to 14 and includes outdoor time picking edibles, making fires, cooking, crafting, talking and singing.

Saturday Squirrels begins Oct. 9 and will meet weekly on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for kids ages 6 to 13. This program includes exploring the woods and beyond, naturalist and survival skills, scouting games and much more.

The first visit for outdoor home-schoolers is free. After that the cost is $100 for the remaining Tuesdays in October. After October prices are $325 for 10 days or $900 for the entire school year.

The cost for Girls in the Woods is $375 for the entire school year (30 Thursdays), $150 for 10 sessions, or $20 for walk-ins.

The cost for Saturday Squirrels is $900 for the entire school year (30 Saturdays), $325 for 10 sessions, or $50 for walk-ins.
