In Tisbury : Dress up for the haunted house, games, snacks at the Tisbury School’s Halloween ‘funraiser” Friday and Saturday, 4 to 7 p.m., admission is $3. On Sunday, the Vineyard Haven Public Library opens with free treats, crafts and costumes noon to 4 p.m. Trick or treating on Main street starts at 3 p.m., while revelers can find refuge, warmth and treats free at St. Augustine’s Church in Vineyard Haven from 4 to 9 p.m.

In Oak Bluffs: Friday is the family costume skate, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Martha’s Vineyard Arena. Saturday the wee ones, three to eight, can join Miss Lani’s ‘Howl’oween’ parade and art class at Featherstone; cost is $45. The YMCA’s party is Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m., with a dance party for high schoolers there from 7 to 10 p.m. On Sunday, the Halloween festivities at the Oak Bluffs Public Library go from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (of course there is a costume contest!).

In Edgartown: The Farm Institute offers hayrides and more at its Halloween party on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, admission is $10 a family. The town merchants’ Happy Haunting Festival for costumed trick-or-treaters is Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. Kids can stop by the library for face painting, too.

Up-Island: There are numerous Halloween parties on Sunday. The West Tisbury Library’s do is from 3:30 to 5 p.m. with hayrides, crafts and goodies, while the annual party at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury from 6 to 8 p.m. will offer games, prizes, snacks and a spooky hayride. The Aquinnah Town Hall is the party place from 4 to 6 p.m. while the party for Chilmark children begins at 5 p.m. at the community center.
