The Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival is showing a program of short films, What Makes You Tick? on Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Chilmark Community Center at 5 p.m. Below is my review of the seven short films, I hope you will enjoy watching the films as I did.

The Great White Man Eating Shark

I thought that the Great White Man Eating Shark was a great film. It is about a boy who is a fast swimmer but he bumps into a lot of people in the water. So he makes this shark fin to put on its back to scare all the people out of the water so he has the harbor to himself. I thought it was a good movie because the animation was great. Overall I would rate this film four out of five stars.

Orange

Orange was such a cool film, because there were no people in the film and it was set in New York city. They were slowing and speeding, enlarging and shrinking objects and cars while putting a music beat to it. I would definitely recommend seeing this short film. Overall I would give this film five out of five stars.

Crank Balls

Crank Balls was a great film. Crank Balls is about three clay guys who are on a piece of paper, and a yellow light sticks on to one of the dudes and he turns yellow and happy. He touched another dude and he becomes happy and green. Then the two happy guys touch the last dude and he turns mad and purple. I thought the claymation was great but the story was just okay. I would give Crank Balls two stars out of five.

Sylvester and the Magic Pebble

Sylvester and the Magic Pebble was a very good film. The film is about a young donkey who loves to collects pebbles. One day he found a red pebble near a stream in the rain. He wished it would stop raining and it did. He had found a magic pebble! So he ran home but on his way home he saw a lion near a bush and wished he could be a rock so he would not get eaten. When the lion left, he said, “I wish I was back to normal,” but it did not happen cause he was a rock and not touching the pebble. His parents had a picnic and it was on his rock and they put the pebble on the rock without knowing it was magic. Sylvester instantly wishes he was back to normal. I thought the film was a good movie. I would give the film four out of five stars.

Mind The Gap

Mind the Gap was a wicked film. Mind the Gap is a movie set in New York city where people are beads and it takes place in the subway station and in the ambulance and a lot of other funny things happen. Overall I thought that Mind the Gap was a very creative film. I would give the film three or four stars out of five stars.

Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree was very creative film. It is about a hand that draws a room on Christmas Eve with marker and paper. I thought it was creative but boring. I would give the film one out of five stars.

The Man Who Walked Between the Two Towers

The Man Who Walked Between the Two Towers was a great film. It is about a street performer who wants to walk between the Twin Towers in lower Manhattan. His friends help him by tying a cable to an arrow and shooting the arrow to the other tower. The guy gets the cable and ties it to a pole and the next thing you know he’s walking on the cable high above the ground. I thought the film was great. I would give it five stars.
