Please Adopt Us

Now that the holidays are “almost” over and we can all sit back and relax a bit, won’t you please give some serious thought to taking one or two of our beautiful animals into your home? I guess Santa was so busy giving toys to all the good little children around the world and around our little Island that he just didn’t have time to find homes for the animals at the shelter.

We still have lots of great cats who are so anxious to find their forever homes. For anyone still looking for kittens we have two adorable four-month-old male tiger tabbies named Flotsam and Jetsam and their sweet young mother, Starboard; they are the perfect typical tiger kitties.

We also still have two dwarf bunnies, Hanna, the brown and white bunny and Jack, the mostly white bunny. Both have been hand-raised and are very sweet and tame.

The two guinea pigs, Mocha and Piggy Sue, who love to be held and cuddled, are still with us. It’s such fun to hear them squeal when they know that it’s feeding time. And speaking of feeding time, we could certainly use some bunny and guinea pig food, like apples, carrots and lettuce. It’s amazing how much those little critters can eat at one meal.

Now that everyone has some free time before the summer rush, won’t you consider giving a couple of hours a week to volunteer at the shelter, feeding the animals and cleaning cages and just being with the animals, giving them the love and attention that they need?

Please contact Lisa during shelter hours: Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The telephone number is 508-627-8662. We also can always use cleaning supplies such as laundry soap, dish soap, and bleach and Arm and Hammer kitty litter deodorant, and paper towels.

All the animals and the staff and volunteers at the shelter wish everyone a very happy and healthy New Year and peace!
