Please Adopt Us

The holidays have come and gone and our most fervent wish for 2011 is for empty cages! It’s not because we don’t love all the animals, but we do want them to find homes. So we ask everyone who loves animals to come by the shelter and see what a wonderful, sweet group of cats we have just waiting to be adopted.

Our second wish for 2011 is for everyone who owns a cat to be sure it is spayed or altered as soon as possible so it does not contribute to the strays at the shelter. If you need financial assistance, please contact your vet or call the shelter for advice.

Our old-timers that are still patiently waiting for someone to come and adopt them are: Binx, Dolly, Woody and Magi, all black cats; Oprah, the tortoiseshell; and Tangerine, the unusual flame point Siamese. Newer cats are Maxine, a sweet little tiger tabby; Alexander, a big handsome ginger cat with medium long hair; Starboard, a lovable tabby who is the mother of Flotsam and Jetsam, also tabbies; and Charlotte, a small tiger tabby who loves to be held and will make a wonderful lap cat; and last but not least is Carly, a long-haired female black cat.

We also still have Jack, the brown, very affectionate bunny, and Hannah, a white dwarf bunny with a little brown who is also very tame and affectionate. And there are two guinea pigs — Mocha and Piggy Sue — who would make wonderful pets for children.

The shelter hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
