The Polly Hill Arboretum will host a guided garden tour of the Delaware Valley May 16 to 19. This region encompasses both Philadelphia, Pa., and Wilmington, Del., with wonderful arboreta, historic landscapes and public gardens that combine history, garden design and up-to-the-minute horticulture.

The arboretum has strong connections to the gardens and gardeners of this area. Polly Hill’s interest and love of plants was nurtured in the Delaware Valley, where she grew up and later raised her family. Arboretum executive director Tim Boland began his career in the public gardens of the Delaware Valley and today the arboretum maintains a working relationship with colleagues in this area.

In honor of this connection, the arboretum is offering an opportunity to tour gardens including Winterthur, the Scott Arboretum, Chanticleer, Mt. Cuba Center, and the Jenkins Arboretum, as well as two private gardens, with Mr. Boland and education coordinator Karin Stanley.

The tour package includes accommodations at the Wayne Hotel in Wayne, Pa., as well as all garden tours, daily lunch and a spectacular private dinner at the Mt. Cuba center. For more information, call 508-693-9426 or visitpollyhillarboretum.org/visit/what-is-happening/. Space is limited.
