Please Adopt Us

A big thank you to all the people in the past two weeks who have made our New Year’s wish come true — we now have a lot of empty cages at the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard. We do still have some sweet lovable cats that need homes. They are: Binx, a black cat with white markings who is an indoor cat and although she is shy, she is very gentle and loves to be petted; Oprah, a tortoiseshell who is a wonderful lap cat and loves to be petted; Woody, an all-black, long-haired indoor/outdoor cat; Maxine, a sweet, shy tabby, who really needs some TLC; Alexander, a big ginger fellow; Tangerine, a handsome Flame point round-faced Siamese; and Max, who is gray and white and declawed and would make a wonderful house pet.

And we still have Jack, the soft, gentle, brown bunny who would be right at home in a school classroom.

Lately several people have been disappointed when the cat they fell in love with, but took too long to make a decision about, was adopted by someone else. If you decide to adopt one of our cats and make a deposit, this will insure the cat will not be adopted by anyone else. You can also fill out the adoption papers at the same time; then all you have to do is come and pick the cat up and pay the rest of the adoption fee and the cat is yours to take home.

If you have any questions, please call Lisa at the shelter. The telephone number is 508-627-8662. The shelter hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
