Poet’s Corner at Library

Cape Cod poets Elizabeth Bradfield and Nancy K. Pearson join Island poet Lisa Vunk in a reading on Sunday, May 1 at 4 p.m. at the West Tisbury Library.

Elizabeth Bradfield’s Approaching Ice (Persea Books 2010), was a finalist for the James Laughlin Award. Her book Interpretive Work (Arktoi Books 2008) was winner of the Audre Lorde Prize and was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award. A former Stegner Fellow at Stanford, she has an MFA from the University of Alaska and works as a naturalist.

Nancy K. Pearson’s book Two Minutes of Light (Perugia Press 2008) was winner of the 2008 Perugia Press Prize, the 2009 L.L. Winship /PEN New England Award and was a Massachusetts Book Award “Must Read” for 2009. Ms. Pearson has won numerous awards, most recently the 2010 Wabash Poetry Prize (Sycamore Review) and the 2010 Spoon River Poetry Review’s Editor’s Prize.

Poet Lisa Vunk is a native of the Vineyard who survived an especially turbulent childhood, adolescence and young adulthood. A self-proclaimed spiritual rainbow warrior goddess of the light, Ms. Vunk has also been a waitress, model, private chef, holistic nutritional consultant and healer.

The library event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
