The Vineyard Playhouse is getting set for their summer season. And as a spring teaser they are presenting a staged reading of Dick and Lola, a new comedy by Debra Monk at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21.

As an actress Ms. Monk’s film, TV and theatre credits are pages long. Examples include The Producers, Quiz Show, Bridges of Madison County, NYPD Blue, Gray’s Anatomy, Chicago, Prelude to a Kiss. And we are just warming up here. Suffice it to say, Ms. Monk is a pro and this is a chance to get the skinny on her new work before those big city folks catch wind of what’s brewing.

In addition to Ms. Monk, Brian Kerwin and Andrea Martin will perform at the reading. Mr. Kerwin is a regular on Broadway and television and Ms. Martin is, well, many things, but most memorably one of the original cast members, along with John Candy, Eugene Levy and Harold Ramis, of the comedy sketch show SCTV.

The suggested donation is $20 with tickets available at vineyardplayhouse.org or at the door the night of the reading, if available.
