Sharks in Tune

This weekend it’s not just about baseball for the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks. Then again, every Sharks game brings with it far more than mere sport. Between innings trivia contests, frozen shirt races (you have to see it to believe it), bouncy house, great food, access to friendly players and a chance to kick back while the kids run free and wild, well, semiwild; each game is a true community event.

And on Sunday and Monday they are kicking it another notch.

On July 3 the Sharks are getting in tune when the Vineyard Sound and William Hung of American Idol add a touch of harmony to the event. On July 4, there will be a mystery guest described only as a current Boston sports superstar. You know you’re big when they won’t even divulge your name. Hmm, does Lady Gaga play ball?

All Sharks games are played at the regional high school baseball field located off Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road. Games begin each day at 1 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 13.
